I've been painting since childhood. Growing up in Oklahoma, I always admired the beauty and mystery of the thunder clouds that would move in across the plains and the awesome sunsets I beheld. It is natural that I became a landscape painter.
In 2010 I decided to "go all in" and tour full time for 18 months as a traveling festival artist. Starting in California in January and being accepted in shows across the country we started a great experiment. In June we found ourselves walking the sands of the "Jersey Shore". After that show, we stayed an extra day and I painted on the beach. As the sun was heading down that last day, to our joy, a school of dolphins or porpoises came by near the shore to greet us and then bid us goodbye. In the summer, of that year, we were in the Crested Butte Fine Art Festival and then went to Telluride where the mountains of both areas are unreal they are so beautiful. Since that time, I have placed work in galleries in Santa Fe, NM, as well as Ft. Worth, TX, and my home of OKC, OK. I am still doing festivals but have cut the schedule back a bit to have work available for my galleries. I want to spend more time in the studio painting what I've seen and been inspired by, as well as teaching from what I've seen and experienced.
Education: I received a BA degree in commercial art from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1977. I work in Acrylic and oil (palette knife in oil).
